Feeling too exposed?
The Fear of Showing Up
Sometimes it feels too scary to show up to the world.
I’m talking about real, authentic showing up — not showing off or hiding behind the mask of a Persona you wish others to see.
But what can we do to bypass the fear of stepping into that rawness we so deeply wish to embody and share with our people?
I don’t have all the answers — I’m still crawling out of that shell myself. But along the way, I picked up a few tools.
Stop Comparing Yourself
It hit me once: there is absolutely no point in comparing ourselves to others.
The allegory of trees helped me see it.
🌳 Your people will always find you.
The words you choose,
the energy you emit,
even your facial expressions…
All of this will attract your folks — those on your frequency.
A Short Life, A Bigger Purpose
Our life is just a tiny spark in human history, and an even tinier one in the story of the universe.
And yet — we spend so much energy worrying about how others perceive us.
We forget how little time we actually have to:
make a positive impact,
leave even a slight imprint that endures.
And if you strive to create any change, any shift — even a small deviation from the common patterns most of humanity is stuck in — you’ll need one thing: Courage.
The Role of Courage
Yes. Courage.
Because it takes courage to:
be aware,
witness suffering, violence, death, and cruelty in the world,
and still choose to show up with your message, your light.
Even if:
your hands are shaking holding that torch,
it feels tiny, useless, or worthless,
imposter syndrome suffocates you,
perfectionism whispers that it’s futile.
The baggage is different for each of us.
Speaking Your Truth Anyway
But those who, with trembling hearts, still move forward —
speak their truth,
shine their light,
dare to be different (and judged as a consequence) —
…will eventually feel their brave hearts expand, step by step, through the chaos.
Each mini-victory over fear makes them stronger.
This Is How Authenticity Is Born
And that, my friends, is the true reward.
That is how authenticity is gained, rooted, and becomes part of your very being.
